What is the Starlight Children’s Foundation?
Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia is an independent Australian charity whose purpose is to bring happiness to seriously ill children and teenagers, both in hospital and at home, as a vital part of their healthcare journey. It works in close partnership with doctors, nurses, and hospitals nationwide and is recognised as an integral part of Australia’s paediatric healthcare system.

Uniting our teams across Australia for a worthy cause
Over time, what began as a fundraising initiative has grown into an annual campaign that unites our teams across Australia. Each year, colleagues from multiple offices come together to plan, volunteer, donate and take part in events that are as creative as they are meaningful.From early-morning BBQs and quiz nights to fun team challenges and a much-loved fashion parade, the campaign has become a genuine highlight on our calendar - strengthening connections across our business while supporting an incredible cause.

A key part of the partnership’s success is the way it is championed throughout the organisation. Our leaders actively participate, support event delivery and help keep momentum high, reinforcing that this isn’t a one-off fundraiser, but a long-standing commitment. Just as importantly, the Starlight team works closely with us to ensure the campaign stays connected to real needs, sharing insights and stories that help our people understand the difference their contributions make.
A record-breaking result for fundraising
In 2025, Wood’s Starlight fundraising campaign delivered a record result. We raised more than AUD$42,000, exceeding our target by over AUD$8,000. But the value of that achievement goes well beyond a number. Those funds translate into practical, measurable support for children and families facing serious illness, helping Starlight deliver hospital programs, Captain Starlight visits and the Starlight Express Room experience that gives families a much-needed break from the demands of treatment.

In 2025 alone, Starlight reached more than three million children across Australia. Wood’s contribution helped extend that reach, providing moments of calm, distraction, laughter and resilience at a time when families need it most.
